Violet Vines Opens New Tasting Room in Carlton, Oregon

Violet Vines, a family-owned winery in the Willamette Valley, announces the opening of its new tasting room in downtown Carlton, Oregon, at 203 West Main Street on May 20. One of few wineries that produces wines made exclusively from Oregon fruit, Violet Vines seeks to showcase the diverse Oregon terroir through its diverse collection of vibrant, yet classic wines.
Violet Vines’ estate vineyard in Sheridan, Oregon (McMinnville AVA) includes plantings of Pinot noir (five clones), Chardonnay (two clones), Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Viognier, Chenin Blanc and Albariño. Planted in 2023, the Set-in-Stone Vineyard in the Rocks District of the Milton-Freewater AVA will feature Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Violet Vines also sources fruit from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA and Chehalem Mountain AVA.
Violet Vines’ new tasting room inhabits an early 20th century building that has recently undergone a facelift that preserved its historical roots but added a modern, welcoming flair. The tasting room will open year-round Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm (6 pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Reservations are encouraged (which can be booked here at violetvines.com/reservations) with walk-ins welcome based on availability.

For those interested in a vineyard private tour and tasting experience, Violet Vines welcomes visitors by appointment weather-permitting May through October at its 88-acre estate vineyard in Sheridan, OR (17371 Gopher Valley Road). Reservation requests can be emailed to tasting@violetvines.com.
